This position offers an engaging environment for motivated professionals eager to contribute to quality patient care through precise documentation and billing. **Duties** * Review and analyze medical records, including physician notes, lab results, and diagnostic reports to accurately assign ICD\-9, ICD\-10, CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), and DRG (Diagnosis\-Related Group) codes. * Ensure proper coding for diagnoses, procedures, and services in accordance with federal and state regulations. * Prepare and submit clean claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, minimizing denials and delays. * Follow up on unpaid or rejected claims through effective medical collection practices to secure timely reimbursements. * Maintain comprehensive documentation of coding decisions, billing activities, and correspondence related to medical records. * Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation discrepancies or incomplete records for accurate coding. * Stay updated on evolving coding standards, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations to ensure ongoing compliance. **Requirements** * Proven experience in medical coding and billing within a healthcare setting; familiarity with medical office workflows is highly desirable. * Strong knowledge of ICD\-9, ICD\-10, CPT coding systems, as well as DRG classifications. * Experience working with EMR/EHR systems (**AthenaOne**) for documentation and claim processing. * Excellent understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures. * Ability to interpret complex medical records accurately and assign appropriate codes efficiently. * Knowledge of medical billing processes, including claim submission, follow\-up procedures, and collections. * Familiarity with medical records management and compliance standards related to healthcare documentation.
