Contract Junior Full Stack Software Developer

JDL Access is seeking a contractor (possibly for hire) Junior Full Stack Developer to join our growing software engineering team. This role is ideal for a developer with foundational experience in Node.js and MongoDB who is eager to expand their full stack capabilities and contribute to our healthcare technology platform. As the second developer with this specialized skill set, you will work closely with senior team members while taking ownership of key features and system components. **Key Responsibilities** * Develop and maintain full stack features using ReactJS \- Vite and Node.js * Design, implement, and optimize MongoDB database schemas, queries, and aggregation pipelines * Build and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate with third\-party services * Collaborate with the development team on code reviews, architectural decisions, and best practices * Write clean, maintainable, and well\-documented code following established coding standards * Participate in agile development processes including sprint planning, daily stand\-ups, and retrospectives * Troubleshoot and debug application issues across the full stack * Support security and compliance initiatives, including SOC 2 audit preparation and remediation efforts **Required Technical Skills** * Node.js: 2\+ years of hands\-on experience building back end services and APIs with Node.js * MongoDB: Deep working knowledge of MongoDB including: * *Database design and schema modeling* * *Complex queries and aggregation pipelines* * *Performance optimization and indexing strategies* * *Data migration and backup procedures* * Full Stack Development: Experience with modern front end frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular) and responsive web design * API Development: Proven ability to design and implement RESTful APIs * Version Control: Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows * Problem Solving: Strong analytical and debugging skills with attention to detail **Preferred Experience** * SOC 2: Previous involvement in SOC 2 audit preparation, including security controls documentation, evidence gathering, and remediation activities * Healthcare technology platforms or HIPAA compliant systems * Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker) * Express.js, Nest.js, or similar Node.js frameworks * Automated testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Cypress) * CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices * Additional databases (PostgreSQL, Redis) or message queues **To Apply** Please submit your resume, cover letter, and links to your GitHub profile or portfolio demonstrating your Node.js and MongoDB expertise.
