**Financial Manager** **The Role** As a Financial Manager, you will be a key part of the Group Finance team, responsible for managing the full accounting function for specific Auto \& General Group companies. We foster a high\-performance culture, value integrity and collaboration, and invest in our people through generous rewards and development opportunities. **Key Responsibilities** * Lead month\-end and year\-end close processes, ensuring timely completion of general ledger activities and reconciliations * Prepare and review consolidated statutory financial statements in accordance with AASB and general insurance regulatory returns * Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial results across group entities * Support and assess new business initiatives, ensuring compliance with financial, regulatory, and reporting requirements * Drive continuous improvement across finance systems, reporting, and processes * Ensure finance processes are fit\-for\-purpose in a growing organisation * Maintain and continuously improve accounting policies, technical position papers, and financial controls **Qualifications \& Experience** * CPA/CA qualified with at least 6 years’ experience in a similar role * Proven experience as a senior finance leader within a financial services company or similarly complex environment * Strong technical accounting and statutory reporting capability, including group consolidation * Strong understanding of governance, controls, and regulatory compliance * Commercially astute with the ability to operate in a hands\-on capacity * High attention to detail with a proactive approach * Proven experience in process improvements and/or system implementations * Confident communicator with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills * Ability to work autonomously and consistently meet deadlines * Experience coordinating internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor queries * Ability to provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to the Financial Accounting team * Insurance or broader financial services and Big 4 experience is highly desirable **Our Perks** * **Location – Toowong:** Close to public transport and easy parking, with excellent end\-of\-trip facilities (secure bike storage and showers), outdoor spaces, and modern collaborative work areas * Conveniently located in the Toowong Village Tower with views of the mountains and Brisbane River, only 4 km from the CBD, with access to retail, restaurants, and amenities * **Hybrid Work:** Work from home 2 days per week * **Extra Leave:** Paid ‘ME’ day, paid volunteer day, and the option to purchase additional leave * **Development Opportunities:** Access to internal programs and online learning platforms * **Employee Discounts:** Discounts on Budget Direct insurance products * **Reward and Recognition:** Recognition, rewards, and incentives for high performance * **Onsite Facilities:** End\-of\-trip facilities and private spaces for nursing mothers * **Get Social:** Vibrant social and community activities, including annual celebrations **About Us** Auto \& General (A\&G) is the fastest\-growing major Motor and Home insurer in Australia, providing insurance products and solutions to safeguard a brighter future for our customers and community.
