Finance and Accounting Manager (Aviation)

**Job Title:** Group Financial Manager **Reporting To:** Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Group Commercial \& Operations Director **Role Overview** An established, multi\-entity group operating in a technically complex and regulated environment is seeking an experienced **Group Financial Manager** to take ownership of the full financial function across multiple subsidiaries. The role is responsible for **end\-to\-end financial management**, including group reporting, compliance, cash flow, budgeting, audit, and financial strategy. The successful candidate will lead and develop the finance team, strengthen internal controls, and provide clear, decision\-useful financial insight to executive leadership. **Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management \& Control** * Manage all accounting operations from transactional processing through to group reporting * Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts within strict deadlines * Oversee month\-end and year\-end close processes * Ensure accurate balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, debtors, creditors, and intercompany accounts * Maintain compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and internal policies * Coordinate external audits and act as the primary liaison with auditors * Develop, implement, and continuously improve financial policies, procedures, and internal controls * Ensure confidentiality, data integrity, and appropriate system controls **Tax \& Compliance** * Manage VAT calculations and submissions * Plan and manage provisional tax, income tax, and year\-end tax processes * Ensure compliance with all regulatory, tax, and statutory reporting obligations **Cash Flow \& Treasury** * Forecast and manage group cash flow and liquidity * Prepare rolling cash flow forecasts and working capital requirements * Manage banking relationships and support funding, facilities, and capital structure decisions * Identify and mitigate financial risks, including credit and liquidity risk **Budgeting \& Forecasting** * Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process across all entities * Work closely with operational and functional leaders on budget preparation * Report on variances against budget and provide clear commercial explanations **Financial Analysis \& Decision Support** * Produce financial and management reports for executive leadership and board\-level review * Analyse financial performance, margins, costs, and operational efficiency * Support pricing, profitability analysis, and project viability assessments * Develop KPIs and business metrics to support strategic decision\-making * Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend financial improvements **Leadership** * Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team * Ensure effective deployment of financial resources and staff * Act as a trusted financial partner to senior management **Requirements** * CA(SA) or BCom / BCom Honours in Accounting * Solid experience in a **Financial Manager or Group Financial Manager** role * Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and compliance * Proven experience managing audits, budgets, and cash flow * Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills * High attention to detail, deadline\-driven, and results\-oriented * Strong analytical and problem\-solving capability * South African citizenship or permanent residency Job Type: Full\-time Pay: From R140 000,00 per month Ability to commute/relocate: * Johannesburg, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred) Education: * Bachelors (Preferred) Experience: * Xero: 2 years (Required) * management accounting: 2 years (Required) * staff management: 2 years (Required) * financial accounting: 5 years (Required) Work Location: In person
