The Population Health Data Analyst (PHDA) is responsible for performing the analytic needs of the Atlantic Health’s Accountable Care Organizations (ACO). This position requires an understanding of healthcare data and operations, coupled with an extensive knowledge of large data set development and quantitative data analysis methodology! and analytic tools for reporting. The PHDA supports clinical \& business decisions and operational processes with frequent interaction with other key team members across the organization. The PHDA will design complex reports to support a variety of functions. The PHDA must be fluent in data sources such as payer medical claims, pharmacy claims, lab files, EMR clinical data extracts (especially EPIC). Knowledge should include data mastering including ingestion of raw data files, mapping, deduping, transitioning to refined data and then to tables within published access for access. And an understanding of data access, governance and security * Independently perform analysis using a variety of quantitative methods, identifying, and extracting key insights and trends. * Responsible for automation of reporting, utilizing business intelligence tools to develop meaningful visualizations, and provide end user training as needed. * Responsible for preparation of ad-hoc requests from other departments, according to specified criteria, ensuring timelines, accuracy, and completeness of data. * Effectively facilitate and participate on multi-disciplinary teams, attend, and participate on project meetings and activities. * Keep up to date with the latest technology and trends in healthcare field. * Data aggregation, data mastering, migrating data from raw to refined to published data * Ability to work with medical claims, labs, Rx files and EMR data sources * Statistical analytics, trend analysis, impact analysis * Predictive and prescriptive analytics, data features within AI algorithms * Experience with data sharing, various reporting file formatting, secure transfers, encryption, governance/access * Perform other duties as required. Education/Experience * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, or related field is required. * Preferred: Master’s in healthcare, Computer Science, Informatics, Analytics * 3 plus years in healthcare; 3 years in analytics or informatics * Utilize moderate to advanced SQL language skillset to develop reporting. * Experience with programming languages Python or R. * Some experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc. * Ability to perform work, special assignments, and tasks under only very general supervision. * A team player with good verbal and written communication is strongly preferred.
