The Senior Engineer independently leads and/or directs complex engineering activities related to process optimization, equipment characterization, troubleshooting, and capital project execution within operations, manufacturing, pilot plant, or facilities environments. This role applies advanced and diverse engineering principles to design, implement, and evaluate major system modifications, experiments, and process improvements. The engineer develops, organizes, analyzes, and presents technical interpretations for initiatives of significant scope and complexity. RESPONSIBILITIES * Complete complex or novel engineering assignments requiring development of new or improved techniques and procedures. * Develop engineering policies and procedures impacting multiple organizational units. * Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of engineers, associates, and/or technicians on a continuous and project‑specific basis. * Apply advanced engineering techniques and adapt specialized methods within area of expertise. * Apply engineering principles outside primary discipline to support a broad range of assignments. * Serve as a peer‑recognized technical specialist in at least one engineering area, determining methodologies and best practices. * Utilize mature engineering judgment in planning and executing projects. * Perform additional duties as assigned. * Develop technical solutions to complex problems requiring creativity, innovation, and strong analytical capability. * Collaborate with Research, Manufacturing, Process Development, Utilities, Facilities, Quality Assurance, and Validation to define requirements and recommendations for large or highly complex system/facility modifications. * Partner with Project Managers to deliver engineering and design projects within scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations. * Coordinate work with consultants, architects, and engineering firms to develop standard design documentation. * Develop departmental or project budgets involving multiple engineering disciplines. SKILLS * Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical/biotech processes, GLP/GMP requirements, and regulated documentation. * Solid understanding of validation processes, including protocol development, execution, and new equipment installations. * Ability to apply engineering principles to troubleshoot and optimize production systems. * Proficient with specialized equipment, laboratory instruments, and computer systems. * Skilled in solving routine to highly complex technical problems using scientific and engineering theory. * Strong analytical thinking, resource assessment, and decision‑making. * Ability to identify when internal or external support is required. * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Experience in scheduling, basic project management, task follow‑up, and cross‑functional coordination. * Contractor/vendor management and delegation of project work. * Familiarity with financial analysis tools and project cost development. * Strong verbal communication and technical report writing. * Effective in technical presentations and cross‑functional collaboration. * Skilled in negotiation, conflict resolution, and leadership. * Ability to work with diverse communication and working styles Requirements EDUCATION \& EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS * Doctorate in Engineering OR * Master’s in Engineering + 2 years of engineering experience OR * Bachelor’s in Engineering + 4 years of engineering experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience in Packaging operations or equipment. * Knowledge of equipment characterization/validation. * Experience with vision systems (inspection system analysis). The Process Manufacturing Engineer supports vehicle processing operations by developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes that enable safe, efficient, and scalable production. This role works cross-functionally with production leadership, engineering, and product development to ensure process readiness, capacity alignment, and continuous improvement across new and existing operations. Responsibilities: Independently analyze manufacturing processes to identify issues, assess risks, and recommend practical solutions using standard procedures, industry best practices, and sound engineering judgment. Drive problem-solving and process improvement initiatives, escalating for broader support only when work extends beyond the normal course of business. Provide engineering support for vehicle processing operations, including new product launches, prototype builds, and production ramp-ups. Process \& Capacity Support: Maintain and update production documents governing layout, workflow, and system configurations. Support capacity planning, layout redesigns, and expansion efforts to meet production targets. Coordinate production-related documentation in advance of new product launches. Production Systems \& Tooling: Determine appropriate production equipment and tooling in collaboration with production leadership, considering ergonomics, throughput, space constraints, and performance requirements. Order and implement tooling and equipment to support production systems. Establish and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for critical production equipment. Production Flow \& Documentation: Define and document the correct order of operations to ensure accurate work order execution. Support the development and maintenance of Bills of Process and related production documentation for new and existing products. Validate work instructions, installation guides, and standard work documentation during prototype and production build events. Audit \& Standardization: Develop and maintain audit schedules for critical and Delta processes. Support audit findings, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement activities. Standardize processes and ensure documentation is current and aligned with approved process changes, Product Development, PLM systems, and standard work documents. Collaboration \& Influence: Partner effectively with supervisors, cross-functional teams, and leadership to drive alignment and influence decisions related to manufacturing processes and improvements. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, or a related discipline). Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Experience working within organizational hierarchies and collaborating with supervisors, production teams, and cross-functional stakeholders. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and process improvement skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision; highly proactive and self-directed.
