This role has the responsibility to evaluate, treat, prevent and rehab injuries, along with the recognition and treatment of medical emergencies. They will also provide medical coverage for community events, prevention programming and education for coaches, athletes and parents as well as CPR training. Essential Job Functions Provides athletic injury evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitative services to injured athletes in accordance with the policies and procedures set by orthopedic/sports medicine physicians. Provides emergency medical services for injured athletes including but not limited to providing care for unstable fractures, medical emergencies, traumatic brain injuries and catastrophic injuries. Administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice. Manages and coordinates injury prevention programming for athletes. Coordinates referrals to support continuity of care to the appropriate specialist. Communicates injury status of athletes to coaches, parents, and team physicians. Completes timely and accurate clinical documentation of injury evaluations, treatments, and plans of care. Manages all documentation required by the state specific scholastic athletic leagues. Maintains competency by participation in continuing education, in services, yearly skills review and other learning opportunities. Under the supervision of the Group Exercise Manager, the Group Exercise Instructor will oversee and support all assigned classes. In this role, you will collaborate with leadership and Exercise Physiologists to help clients achieve goals and improve their overall quality of life. Your ability to meet medical needs, problem-solve and identify avenues for improvement can make a difference in the lives of patients every day. A caregiver in this position works varying shifts between 5:30AM – 10:00PM. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Greet members and guests with a smile and deliver world-class service at all times. Arrive ten minutes ahead of time to prepare classroom and music. Screen class for new members and instruct newcomers on class content. Refer members with possible limitations (including injuries and/or medication being taken) to a fitness staff member, manager or physical therapist for further direction. Follow scheduled class format according to LifeStyles class descriptions within the designated class time. Provide class with professional presentation and instruction. Receive approval from Group Exercise Manager for choreography, music selection, movement and breathing techniques and utilization of equipment. Refer members with questions regarding exercise to the professional fitness staff. Operate A/V equipment and music with care. Complete accident/injury report when appropriate and submit to the LifeStyles Director, Group Exercise Manager and Manager on duty. Return all exercise equipment to proper storage and make sure all exercise equipment and studio floor/pool deck is clean for the next class. Attend scheduled staff meetings and bi-annual LifeStyles meetings. Complete mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintain applicable certification/licensure. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High School graduate or the equivalent One Group Exercise certification from an organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) including but not limited to: American Council on Exercise (ACE), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA) or National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) For Specialty formats, appropriate certification/license as dictated by format Current CPR certification Work experience with Zumba, Tabata Bootcamp, Pilates (e.g., Stott, Balanced Body, NETA), Aqua (e.g., Aquatics Exercise Association (AEA) and Arthritis Foundation), Group Cycling (e.g., Keiser, NETA, Spinning) or Martial Arts-based class (e.g., Turbo Kick, AFAA, NETA) Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: First aid certification Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
