Atherton \& Associates, LLP is seeking a, experienced, self-motivated, client-focused individual to join our team as Assurance Supervisor to help us continue to provide the excellent client service that we are known for. Roles \& Responsibilities: Lead multiple assurance engagements by overseeing the planning, organizing, and execution of engagements. Builds and maintains client relationships through direct contact at appropriate levels of the organization on assigned engagements, consistently provides timely response to client and internal requests. Takes responsibility for service quality, thoroughness, and accuracy; proactively works with client to gather data and follow-up on open items. Delegates work effectively to ensure deadlines are met. Assesses - and interprets the implications for the client; understands client’s tolerance for risk. Stays current on regulatory and industry issues and shares applicable information with others. Seeks business development opportunities through new or existing contacts. Effectively supervises, trains, mentors, and develops associates and senior associates. Provide training to co-workers and associates as needed on technical areas of expertise. Proactively communicates work/project status with engagement team and client in a direct and respectful manner. Create and maintain continuing professional education schedule for department staff. Attends recruiting events to build the practice. Flexibility to work weekends and extended hours during peak busy seasons. Signing Bonus Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, preferred concentration in Business Administration or Accounting, from an accredited college or university. Concentration in finance, economics and mathematics will also be considered. CPA license in the State of California, helpful but not required. A minimum of 4 years relevant experience. Effective supervisory and delegation experience with staff in planning, performing, and completing audit engagements. Ability to lead, coach and motivate staff. Superior client service with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Strong technology skills and proficiency with all aspects of Microsoft Office. Experience with ProSystem fx Engagement and Caseware are a plus. Ability to build relationships across lines of business to ensure client service excellence. Ability to lead, prioritize, thrive, and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Roles \& Responsibilities: Ability to focus on complex tasks, understand the Firm’s comprehensive compliance process and persevere to bring work to completion for review. Perform audit fieldwork – assist with testing, walkthroughs, and risk assessments that help validate the integrity of financial records. Analyze financial statements – learn how to spot discrepancies, evaluate performance, and understand the story behind the numbers. Engage with clients – build relationships with CFOs, controllers, and business owners while gaining communication confidence. Leverage technology – use cloud-based audit platforms and data tools that streamline workflow and sharpen your tech skills. Experience a variety of clients – From nonprofits and manufacturers to healthcare groups and real estate firms – you’ll never be stuck in a routine. Takes responsibility for service quality, thoroughness, and accuracy. Develops or offers a proposed solution when communicating an issue. Works autonomously under the pressure of tight deadlines and multiple priorities. Recognizes the importance of professional growth activities of the firm and starts to develop a peer network. Ability to organize facts, analyze and interpret information/research according to client circumstances. Identifies and develops alternatives for issues and consults with engagement team. Masters the Firm’s software, research technology tools and related products to accomplish work efficiently.
