The Practice Manager provides effective leadership and accountability for all operations of two or more Practice locations and/ or a minimum of associated Revenue to include excellence in patient-focused clinical care, human resources, information systems, quality assurance, and financial management. The Practice Manager is responsible for business operations and personnel management and oversight of the daily operations of the practice(s). Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm What you will be working on * Financial Management: Proposes, and manages operational budget for more than one Practice Center/ or Associated minimum revenue thresholds. Maintains financial literacy relative to patient care and industry trends. Maintains inventory control processes and facilitates purchasing in accordance with established procedures. Manages facility assets in a responsible manner. Understands and adheres to all financial policies and procedures, and leads others to do the same. * Human Resources Management: Responsible for employee timekeeping accuracy and timely approval. Conducts job interviews and employee selection in a manner that supports effective staffing. Performs onboarding and orientation with new staff to promote employee engagement and staff productivity. Initiates activities to promote employee and physician engagement. Utilizes formal and informal recognition resources to recognize staff and provider accomplishments. Conducts training activities with staff and providers to support operational functions. Maintains effective staffing levels and adequate scheduling. * Information Management: Understands and utilizes patient health and billing systems effectively. Ensures compliance and appropriate utilization of information technology resources. Utilizes information technology to ensure accurate coding processes. Performs and participates in audits to ensure compliance and minimize organizational risk. Understands and abides by privacy laws (i.e. HIPAA) and organizational policies and procedures regarding health information management, safeguarding protected health information (PHI). * Leadership: Provides operational leadership in a manner that promotes a consistent and effective culture for all assigned locations. Demonstrates effective written, verbal and electronic communication that is professional in both content and delivery. Leads in a manner that promotes positive physician relations and encourages physicians and others to have a voice. Maintains functional relationships with others throughout the organization to draw upon their expertise and resources effectively. Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills. * Clinical Care Management: Exemplifies and promotes positive patient relations. Understands and empowers frontline employees and providers to utilize effective service recovery, as needed. Optimizes ophthalmology delivery processes to streamline an efficient patient flow. Understands quality improvement tools and methodology (i.e. 100% participation, fill rates, schedules, templates, patient volume) and utilizes the same to improve both the delivery of extraordinary patient care and operational processes. Participates in, promotes, and utilizes patient feedback mechanisms, including patient perceptions of quality (NPS) surveys, to ensure extraordinary care. * Patient Care: Understands clinical policies and procedures and ensures patient care is delivered in accordance with the same. Understands the clinical programs concept and implements. Develops and promotes adherence to clinical standards of care. Implements and monitors identified quality measures to promote effective patient care delivery. * Facility Management: Promotes safety and security in all facilities by conducting regular safety inspections and monitoring the work environment for potential hazards and maintenance issues. Actively coordinates and participates in emergency preparedness activities, including drills, simulations, and training with staff and providers. Ensures that material safety data sheets (MSDS) are accessible and that staff is familiar with workplace hazards and the process of responding to workplace exposures, accidents, injuries, and illnesses. Ensures that preventative maintenance, repairs, etc. are completed on a regular basis on all equipment, as required. * Accounts Receivable Management: Understands and utilizes financial assistance practices, training staff and providers to do the same. As necessary, coordinates accounts receivable activities with the Billing Department. Understands and utilizes financial best practices. Understands and utilizes approved registration practices in the front office, training staff to do the same. Ensures accurate and compliant coding practices, training staff and providers to do the same, as applicable. * Other Management Responsibilities: Explores feasibility and practicality of innovations in ophthalmology patient care delivery and patient-provider interactions. Leads and initiates marketing activities to promote services, facilities, and providers within the communities served. Provides and promotes positive public relations. * Actively participates in quality improvement initiatives. The Home Health Clinical Referral Coordinator is responsible for managing and processing referrals for home health services. They serve as the primary point person in the referral process, ensuring that all necessary documentation and information is collected in order for home health services to be initiated or resumed. This position requires clinical knowledge in additional to technical skills to provide clinical support through the home health referral process. They ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain accurate patient records. Quality, accuracy, and timeliness are critical components to the success of this position. Position Specific Responsibilities + Reviewing, processing, and verifying all referral elements are present for an admission. + Coordinates referral management with referral sources and Compassus teammates to gather all necessary documentation for a referral to be complete. + Maintains consistent knowledge of program referral capacity including daily, weekly, and monthly admission targets. Ability to collaborate with program teams to manage these targets on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. + Collaboration with internal teammates, referral sources, and patient/family on the referral, admission, and resumption of care process. + Drives clinical decisions in collaboration with program teammates to support referral and eligibility decisions. + Supports clinical and non-clinical teammates by teaching, coaching, and guiding teammates. + Engages with referral portals for effective referral management. + Participates in agency quality improvement programs as necessary. + Participates in regularly scheduled daily stand-up meetings for coordination of services, exchange of information and problem solving, and to receive staff support and education as requested. + Applies the policies and procedures of the home health program and the rules and regulations of Federal and State regulatory agencies, including HIPAA, and other certifying agencies in performing duties. + Maintains confidentiality of necessary information. + Utilizes Best Practices shared by the program and support teams to drive an efficient referral to admission process. + Manages patient records through the referral process and updates systems with accurate and current information. + Participates in training courses/sessions as required. + Participates in program meetings as needed. + Prepares reports and data as required and requested. + Organizes and prioritizes large volumes of information. + Displays exceptional customer service to patients/families/referral sources. + Handles confidential and non-routine information. + Triages incoming calls and inquires to the appropriate teammate. + Provides home health information to patients/families as needed. + Captures required information through the referral and intake process. + Performs other duties as assigned. + Obtains orders and documentation needed for admission and/or resumption of care. + May need to work in the field to support clinical needs of a program.
