The Application Specialist is responsible for to be a key expert in ensuring our customers and internal teams are fully proficient with our discipline-specific instruments. This position reports to the Supervisor Field Applications \& Technical Support and is part of the Service Department in Field Applications located in Kwa-Zulu Natal and will be fully remote. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Design and develop comprehensive product-specific training programs for various discipline-specific instruments. Deliver high-quality technical and customer training to both internal staff and external customers. Provide customer training on the application of new and existing product technologies. Offer expert application support and troubleshooting to customers and field service engineers. Manage daily administrative tasks and generate detailed reports. Organize and conduct customer workshops, actively assisting sales and marketing teams at conferences and other events. Oversee the management of training rooms and instruments, ensuring readiness and functionality. Maintain and update training materials, demonstrating excellent facilitation skills during delivery. Manage relevant and discipline specific shared folders to ensure up-to-date information is accessible. Engage in daily management activities and contribute to project management initiatives. The essential requirements of the job include: A qualified Medical Technologist with at least 5 years of proven track record or experience in a laboratory or clinical setting. A N. Dip Medical Technology, B.Sc Biomedical, B. Med Sciences, or an equivalent qualification. Demonstrated experience in relevant medical or scientific discipline. "Train the Trainer" or an equivalent certification in adult education. Experience in laboratory management and student training. Proven experience across the full training cycle, including needs analysis, curriculum design, training delivery, and evaluation. Specific and proven experience with Beckman Coulter analyzers is highly preferred. A strong understanding of relevant discipline principles. Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills. High level of computer literacy, including proficiency with relevant software. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. An opportunity exists for a qualified and experienced Financial Manager to join our Small Privately Owned Mining Company Minimum Requirements: BCom Cost and Manangement Accounting / CIMA (minimum) Completed articles or equivalent experience advantageous 5 - 10 years' experience in financial management, preferably in mining or heavy industry Experience working in a small or owner-managed business beneficial Proven experience in managing a small finance team Experience with intercompany accounting in multi-entity groups Required Skills \& Competencies Strong proficiency in Sage Accounting, Sage X3, and advanced MS Excel (pivot tables, power queries, modelling). Solid understanding of mining cost structures and operational drivers. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work hands-on in a small team environment. Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with operational staff and owners. High attention to detail and strong organisational discipline. Proven ability to manage complex intercompany loan structures. 1. Financial Accounting \& Reporting Oversee the full accounting function, including general ledger, journals, reconciliations, and month-end close. Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, variance analyses, and operational cost reports. Maintain the fixed asset register, including mining equipment, rehabilitation assets, and depreciation schedules. Ensure accurate stock accounting for mined materials, consumables, and spares. Produce annual financial statements in line with IFRS for SMEs (or applicable framework). Coordinate external audits and prepare audit-ready schedules. 2. Intercompany Loan Accounts \& Group Transactions Maintain strict control over multiple intercompany loan accounts across the group structure. Ensure all intercompany transactions are correctly recorded, authorised, and reconciled monthly. Monitor loan movements, interest calculations, and compliance with shareholder or board-approved funding arrangements. Prepare intercompany confirmations and resolve discrepancies between group entities. Ensure transparency and traceability of all cross-company charges, management fees, equipment rentals, and shared-service allocations. Support group consolidation processes with accurate intercompany elimination schedules. 3. Financial Systems Management (Sage Accounting \& Sage X3) Manage and optimise the Sage Accounting and Sage X3 environments. Ensure correct system configuration for mining-specific processes (stock, cost centres, projects, BOMs, etc.). Develop and maintain Excel-based models for budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and operational reporting. Drive automation and process improvements across the finance function. 4. Cash Flow, Treasury \& Working Capital Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts. Manage banking relationships, payment approvals, and liquidity planning. Oversee debtor collections and credit control. Monitor supplier terms, payment cycles, and working capital efficiency. 5. Cost Control \& Operational Finance Analyse mining production costs, contractor costs, fuel usage, and maintenance spend. Support operational managers with cost insights and financial decision-making. Track project and capital expenditure against budgets. Implement cost-saving initiatives and financial controls across the site. 6. Compliance, Governance \& Risk Management Ensure compliance with tax legislation (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax, Provisional Tax). Maintain internal controls, financial policies, and risk-mitigation procedures. Oversee statutory submissions and liaise with SARS and other regulatory bodies. Ensure compliance with mining-related financial obligations (rehabilitation funds, royalties, environmental guarantees, etc.). 7. Team Leadership \& Development Supervise and mentor the finance team: Invoicing Clerk Accountant Trade Payables Clerk Allocate tasks, review work, and ensure timely delivery of financial outputs. * Build a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
