The Department of Social Services (DSS) is comprised of the administrative units of the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA) and the Department of Homeless Services (DHS). HRA is dedicated to fighting poverty and income inequality by providing New Yorkers in need with essential benefits such as Food Assistance and Emergency Rental Assistance. DHS is committed to preventing and addressing homelessness in New York City by employing a variety of innovative strategies to help families and individuals successfully exit shelter and return to self-sufficiency as quickly as possible. Information Technology Services (ITS) is DSS’s technology services organization. ITS mission is to support the daily, emergent, and long-term needs of both agencies. ITS creates and enhances the technology infrastructure and computer applications that support HRA and DHS and develops applications, including a variety of client eligibility and recertification systems, case management systems, housing systems, employment/work engagement services, revenue producing computer matches, claiming systems, and personnel systems. Information Technology Services (ITS) is recruiting for three (3) IT Infrastructure Engineer, to function as Devops Engineers, who will; Perform System Design and Implementation, develop and implement Software Release Management strategies for various applications according to the agile process and design and implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery model with products like Jenkins, Red Hat Linux, Stash/Git, Java, Maven, Azure DevOps. Use GIT for source code version control and integration with Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline. Perform code reviews as needed to ensure overall quality of codebase, minimize defects, and maintain best practices across development teams. Develop and prepare documents for the general design of solutions that meet system and security requirements, including the selection of alternative approaches for container systems (Docker/Kubernets/Openshift) and container orchestration (e.g. Openshift, EKS, Kubernetes, Swarm). Develop specifications for databases, communication systems, hardware, network, security, storage and software configurations for container environments. Create structured diagrams for the specifications of container environments. Perform Integration and Deployment. Write Ansible playbooks to automate application deployment process and to integrate with Jenkins jobs for a Continuous Delivery framework. Import volumes, launch EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, Route53, VPC, Code Deploy, and create security groups, auto-scaling, load balancers (ELBs) in the defined Virtual Private Cloud connection. Maintain system’s infrastructure using JENKINS and multiple AWS tools. Run System Performance Monitoring/Observability. Develop and implement observability strategies for various applications, design and implement threshold monitoring for application performance. Design and implement Splunk alerts for error code monitoring in logs, design and implement AppDynamics APM alerts for application needs. Design and implement Splunk dashboards. Maintain and support production Splunk environment on premises and cloud. He/she will maintain and expand Linux and container environment, configure and deploy new OpenShift/ Kubernetes environment, maintain and update container environments. System integration using a variety of protocols, including JSON, REST, and XML and create and maintain scripts. Hours/Shift: 9:00am - 5:00pm IT INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER - 95714 Minimum Qualifications A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering or a related field and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or, A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or, Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
