THE COMPANY AND THE ROLE GCM Services is a specialist demolition contractor providing services to clients within the construction and petrochemical industry, throughout the UK. Conveniently located in Central Scotland, our Head Office is easily accessible via M80 Junction 7 Haggs Interchange with on-site parking available. Founded in 2012, the Company has performed exceptionally well and experienced significant growth since inception. Having transitioned to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), GCM Services are now proudly employee-owned and this change in business structure has opened up an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance and Administration Manager. The Finance and Administration Manager plays a key role in supporting GCM Services financial performance and strategic decision making. Reporting to the Commercial Director, the role is responsible for the management of all accounting, finance and administration processes including HR. The role will work closely with and have direct line management responsibility for the Administrator within the office. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: All aspects of book-keeping/GL management in preparation of full statutory annual accounts, liaising with external Chartered Accountants for finalisation and submission to HMRC Preparation of accurate and timely quarterly management accounts for internal decision making and performance monitoring purposes Sales Invoicing, Bank reconciliation, supplier payments and cashflow management Fixed Asset Register, Depreciation Schedules, Prepayment, Accrual and WIP calculations Quarterly VAT Return Monthly CIS Return Monthly Payroll processing and PAYE/NIC/CIS reconciliations and payments Cashflow forecasting Commercial Insurance renewals including EL, PL, Plant and Fleet Negotiation of HP/lease terms and rates as required Monitor and report on costs, margins, and financial performance against budget and forecast. Partner with Contract Managers and Commercial Director to support cost control and operational efficiency. Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes, systems, and reporting. Maintain accurate financial records in line with company policies and regulatory and legal requirements. HR responsibilities include administration of personnel files to include issuance of new start paperwork, Company inductions, contracts of employment and right to work checks. Absence planner monitoring, leading and supporting management with HR processes and liaising with our external HR advisor when required. Support ad-hoc projects as required. Line manage, mentor and support the development of the administrator within the team. This role may be required to undertake other duties as required. In these circumstances, training will be given where considered necessary. QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Essential: Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA or CIMA), or qualified by experience. Proven experience (5 years +) in a management accounting role Experience producing statutory annual accounts and quarterly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary. Experience in budgeting, cashflow forecasting, and financial planning. Understanding of cost control, margin analysis, and operational performance reporting. Experience working to deadlines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Desirable: Experience within the construction industry with a good understanding of the Construction Industry Scheme UK government framework. Experience of working with ISO Quality Management systems Experience in managing HR processes ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data. Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders. Confident IT user with strong Excel, Word and Accounting software skills (Xero) Effective organisational and time-management skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and build effective working relationships.
