This is an exciting opportunity to work within the MindMate Support Team (MHST) based in the City of Leeds. We currently have various EMHP posts available across the city due to lots of internal promotions as our service grows. You will be employed as a Band 5 Education Mental Health Practitioner, working with colleagues across the city of Leeds, with education settings and health professionals to offer Mental Health and wellbeing support to young people up to the age of 18 and their families. We will require successful applicants to be registered (or going through the process) with either the BPS or BABCP as you will be working within a NHS commissioned service. You will work within LCH NHS Trust and provide a range of assessment and other interventions with individuals and wider systems under close clinical supervision from our experienced staff. Regular case management and clinical supervision on an individual basis and peer group supervision will be offered to ensure excellent clinical standards and registration is maintained. The MindMate Support Team holds a strong culture around wellbeing and work life balance and supports a hybrid model of working. Main duties of the job The post-holder will have completed or be nearing the end of the HEE postgraduate diploma in Education mental health practice. They will be able to competently deliver a range of 1:1 and group Low Intensity CBT based interventions for children, young people, and parents/carers. Main duties of the job involve using your skills and knowledge to deliver a range of whole school work such as assemblies, workshops and education staff training. Alongside 1:1 and group Low Intensity CBT based interventions for young people, and parents/carers. Delivering a 'whole setting approach' within educational settings developing excellent professional working relationships along the way. In line with the government's priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people, the new Mental Health Support Teams (named by children and young people in the region as Wellbeing in Mind teams) are an exciting opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors in England. We currently have 5 Wellbeing in Mind teams across North Yorkshire, which are embedded within education settings We are looking to recruit a new Education Mental Health Practitioner. The successful candidates will become part of a team delivering support to schools in the Scarborough & Ryedale area. Applicants must have successfully completed the 1 year Post Graduate Certificate 'Education Mental Health Practitioner' course and be registered with either the BABCP or BPS. Main duties of the job The Wellbeing in Mind team has 3 functions: • Support the development of a whole-school or college approach to wellbeing. This can include, but is not limited to, supporting sites to develop and implement mental health and wellbeing policies, development of resources, supporting campaigns and delivering training, assemblies and PHSE curriculum. • Provide timely advice and consultation to education staff. This is designed to support teaching staff to build their skills and confidence in supporting the wellbeing needs of their students/pupils. This is offered in both a formal and informal way. • Undertake direct assessments and intervention for young people within education. We offer a low intensity service model, predominantly using cognitive-behavioural therapy. Each function accounts for a third of the team's workload. Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes.
