Blockchain Data Infrastructure Engineer Company: Kednus Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time / Contract Work Arrangement: Remote Experience Level: Senior (5–7 years) Education: Associate degree or equivalent experience Role Purpose Kednus is building institutional-grade blockchain financial infrastructure. As a Blockchain Data Infrastructure Engineer , you will own the blockchain data layer that transforms complex, fragmented multi-chain activity into standardized, reconciled, and audit-ready financial records. You will design and build systems that make blockchain data reliable, structured, and usable for accounting, analytics, and compliance across 200+ blockchains. Key Responsibilities * Build scalable ingestion pipelines for blockchain, wallet, exchange, DeFi, custodian, and off-chain transaction data. * Normalize and standardize transactions across multiple chains, token standards, smart contracts, NFTs, stablecoins, and DeFi protocols. * Develop classification systems for blockchain activities such as swaps, transfers, staking, lending, bridging, gas fees, rewards, liquidations, and contract interactions. * Implement wallet-level cost basis tracking, entity mapping, reconciliation, and sub-ledger generation. * Design and maintain chain adapters and robust data quality systems (duplicate detection, missing data handling, failed transactions, and consistency checks). * Collaborate with product and accounting teams to translate blockchain events into finance-grade transaction categories. * Build monitoring and alerting systems for indexing health, chain availability, reorgs, API latency, and provider outages. * Ensure data accuracy and reliability across large-scale multi-chain datasets powering institutional financial reporting. Required Qualifications * 5+ years of experience in data engineering, blockchain infrastructure, crypto accounting systems, or distributed systems. * Strong understanding of blockchain fundamentals including wallets, smart contracts, token standards, RPC nodes, indexers, and event logs. * Hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines, streaming systems, or large-scale transactional data systems. * Proficiency in Python , SQL , and TypeScript (or similar languages such as Go or Rust). * Experience working with APIs, RPC endpoints, webhooks, and blockchain data providers. * Strong ability to design resilient systems that handle inconsistent, missing, or conflicting data across sources. Preferred Qualifications * Experience with major blockchain ecosystems such as Ethereum, EVM-compatible chains, Bitcoin, Solana, Cosmos, Polygon, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, or Avalanche. * Familiarity with DeFi protocols, bridges, custodians, centralized exchanges, and tokenized real-world assets. * Experience with graph databases, entity resolution, wallet clustering, or fraud detection systems. * Understanding of crypto accounting principles and financial treatment of blockchain transactions. First 90-Day Success Outcomes * Deliver a prioritized roadmap for blockchain chain coverage expansion. * Build reusable and scalable chain adapter architecture. * Establish a standardized transaction normalization schema across supported chains. * Improve accuracy of transaction classification and reconciliation systems. * Strengthen overall data reliability for institutional-grade reporting.
