Position Information Job Title Assistant Professor - Kinesiology Department School of Health and Kinesiology Essential Functions The School of Health and Kinesiology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha invites applications for tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor in Kinesiology with an anticipated start date of August 2026. Responsibilities for this position include teaching courses in the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral kinesiology curriculum; mentoring and supervising graduate students; establishing an extramurally funded research program; and providing service to the school, college, university, and metropolitan community. About Us: In the Spring of 2025, the School of Health and Kinesiology opened a new 30,000 square foot laboratory facility to support expanding faculty research. Current and future facilities include laboratories to facilitate research across the breadth of kinesiology, including but not limited to developmental motor function, physical activity, disability related research, exercise psychology, exercise biology/biochemistry (wet lab), applied physiology, cardiovascular/pulmonary physiology, environmental human physiology, as well as sports medicine and sports science. The new faculty member will have the opportunity to contribute to and/or grow a laboratory in the new facility to support their research agenda. There is a high potential for collaborative research with current faculty from the School of Health and Kinesiology, the Department of Biomechanics, the University of Nebraska Medical Center, among others. The Department of Human Sciences in the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University invites applications for a full-time (9-month) assistant/associate professor tenure-track position in the Health and Exercise Science program.
