As well as gaining some great experience, successful completion of your internship in 2026 could lead to you being offered a place on one of our graduate programmes starting in 2027. What can I look forward to? The 10-week paid Actuarial Internship is designed to provide a taster of what an actuarial career at Zurich looks like. You will be working in an actuarial role from day one, gaining experience working alongside a team of actuaries and learning some of the foundation skills required to succeed in the profession. The internship provides a great opportunity for you to get to know whether an actuarial career, and Zurich, is suited to you, as well as an opportunity for the Zurich life actuarial team to get to know you. Your internship could involve working in reserving, pricing, reinsurance, or another core actuarial area. Whichever role your internship is in will give you the chance to start learning what an actuary does. You will be assigned a ‘buddy’ for the duration of your internship. This will be a past intern or a recent graduate – someone who will be able to help guide you through your early experiences, give you advice and answer any questions about working at Zurich. Additionally, the Zurich Internship Scheme will help to develop your non-actuarial skills and give you a chance to work on a project across different career disciplines. The Life Actuarial internship is based in our Swindon office - one of the UK’s most sustainable offices. There is the potential for hybrid working after an initial period. What’s in it for you? As well as joining a company that is passionate about sustainability and our customers, you can expect: £24,479 pro rata salary Pro rata holiday for the duration of your internship Contribution towards private medical cover 12% company pension contribution Access to other flexible benefits What you’ll need: Although we are a hybrid workforce, you should be within a commutable distance of the Swindon office Strong IT skills, knowledge of Excel is preferable (but not essential) Comfortable with maths and a logical mindset An appetite to learn A professional attitude and a positive approach to your work Entry Requirements: You must be in your penultimate year of study in a Maths-based bachelors (or equivalent) degree (e.g. mathematics, statistics, engineering, chemistry and physics) and on course to achieve a minimum 2:1 degree. A minimum C/4 grade in both English and Maths at GCSE level (or equivalent) At least 128 UCAS points (ABB) in three A-levels (or equivalent) A minimum A grade in Mathematics A-level. * You must have an indefinite, full right to work and reside in the UK. We cannot accept applications from those who require sponsorship to work in the UK. You must have resided in the UK for a minimum of three consecutive years. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Converting an existing process from Excel to a more efficient program such as SQL. Creating validation tools to ensure accuracy of reserving software. Collaborate with management, business partners, analysts, and technical resources team to support audit/environmental health needs. Join forces with analysts, DBAs and stakeholders to gather, understand, and develop technical requirements. Other duties as required.
