Our flagship initiative is a cloud-based, Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) platform that integrates multimodal clinical and imaging data—including EUS, radiology, and pathology—to enable early diagnosis and expert-level interpretation. Supported by grant funding and partnered with world-class clinical universities and health systems, we are bridging the gap between "black box" algorithms and clinical transparency. The Role We are seeking a visionary VP of Engineering to lead our technical implementation as we transition from foundational planning to active clinical product development. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing the development of our high-fidelity diagnostic interfaces, HIPAA-compliant cloud environments, and Explainable AI (XAI) frameworks. Key Responsibilities * Engineering Leadership: Oversee the technical roadmap for the platform, ensuring all development aligns with FDA Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) standards. * AI/ML Integration: Lead the deployment of advanced CNN architectures (e.g., EfficientNet-V2, ResNet-50) and manage the transition from open-source benchmarking to training on large-scale clinical datasets. * Infrastructure Management: Direct the build-out of secure, HIPAA-compliant Azure / AWS cloud environments and high-performance computing architectures for large-scale training. * UI/UX Oversight: Collaborate with clinical partners to refine high-fidelity Figma models into real-time diagnostic interfaces featuring clinician feedback loops. * Consortium Collaboration: Work closely with the UCF research team and regional health clinical investigators to ensure clinical-technical alignment and successful data integration. * Project Governance: Manage technical milestones, including the maintenance of Software Requirements Specifications (SRS) and Product Requirements Documents (PRD). Qualifications * Technical Stack: Experience with Azure/Cloud infrastructure, Python-based ML frameworks, and Explainable AI (XAI) techniques (e.g., GradCAM). * Medical AI Expertise: Proven experience in medical imaging AI, specifically with ultrasound or oncology-related datasets, is highly desirable. * Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of HIPAA-compliant data handling and preparing documentation for FDA medical device standards. * Leadership: Ability to manage interdisciplinary teams across commercial, academic, and clinical domains. * Advanced Degree: MS or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred. BS accepted with substantial relevant prior experience. * Support fund-raising environment. Requirements * You are located in Central Florida, with the ability to travel to Lake Mary / Orlando FL area about once a week. Other locations in Florida are acceptable for an exceptional candidate.
