PHYSICAL THERAPY \& KINESIOLOGY INSTRUCTOR About the Course Summer Springboard (SSB) is recruiting an innovative and dynamic instructor to deliver a hands-on Physical Therapy \& Kinesiology course for high school students in our pre-college summer program at Yale. This course explores human movement, biomechanics, and rehabilitation. Students will learn musculoskeletal anatomy, movement analysis, injury prevention, therapeutic exercise techniques, and rehabilitation protocols. Through hands-on activities, students will practice gait analysis, assess posture and flexibility, learn taping and manual therapy basics, and understand sports medicine applications. The course covers the path to becoming a physical therapist, various PT specialties (orthopedic, neurological, sports, pediatric), and the role of kinesiology in athletic performance and injury recovery. Curriculum \& Qualifications A comprehensive curriculum will be provided focusing on movement science and rehabilitation principles. The ideal candidate is a licensed physical therapist (DPT), PT student, kinesiologist, athletic trainer, or exercise physiologist with clinical or sports medicine experience. Schedule Dates: June 22-26, 2026 and July 13-17, 2026 (two 1-week sessions) Hours: 9:00am-1:15pm daily instruction, plus 3:00-5:00pm labs, guest speakers, and academic excursions (~27 hours per week) Location: Yale University campus, New Haven, CT Excursions \& Activities Using your professional network and contacts, you will work together with SSB, to arrange visits to sports medicine facilities, rehabilitation clinics, or athletic performance centers in the New Haven area. The course will culminate in students creating comprehensive rehabilitation plans for specific injury scenarios or athletic populations.
