Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Big Data Software Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable, secure, cloud-native data platforms at Sightview Software LLC. In this role, you will develop high-quality production code, design end-to-end data pipelines, and influence system architecture, data frameworks, and analytics capabilities across our products. You will serve as a subject-matter expert in big-data technologies, ETL/ELT, analytics dashboards, and AWS data services, partnering closely with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, analytics-ready data solutions that support informed decision-making and product innovation. Job responsibilities Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors Develops secure and high-quality production code and reviews code written by others Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in areas of Big Data, ETL, Analytic Dashboards, and AWS data tooling Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies Adds to the team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect Designs and develops end-to-end data pipelines using Python (PySpark), Scala, and AWS services Utilizes programming languages such as Typescript, works with NoSQL databases and SQL, and leverage container orchestration services, including Kubernetes or ECS, along with a variety of AWS tools and services Defines and implements backup, recovery, and archiving strategies in partnership with Operations team members Generates advanced data models, versioned data sets, and data analytics dashboards in QuickSight Acts as Technical Lead for additional team members, including mentorship, task allocation, and pair programming Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability Advanced in one or more programming language(s) – Python (PySpark), Scala, Typescript Hands-on practical experience in developing Spark-based Frameworks for end-to-end ETL, ELT \& reporting solutions using key components like Spark SQL \& Spark Streaming. SIGHTVIEW SOFTWARE LLC is the only solutions that spans all of eyecare. About the role: Sightview Software is seeking a Cloud Operations Administrator to provide hands-on operational management of our AWS cloud environment in a HIPAA-regulated healthcare setting. This role is heavily focused on AWS Backup administration, cost optimization, system patching, and day-to-day cloud operations. The position includes participation in an on-call rotation and works closely with Engineering and Implementation teams while remaining clearly focused on operational execution. Key Responsibilities: · Own and administer AWS Backup policies, schedules, retention, monitoring, and recovery testing · Execute and manage patching and maintenance for EC2, ECS, EKS, and related services · Strong working knowledge of supporting and maintaining Windows and Linux server environments · Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, and Python for automation and system administration · Understanding of Terraform concepts, including modules, state management, and providers · Perform daily operational support of AWS infrastructure to ensure availability and compliance · Monitor systems using CloudWatch, respond to alerts, and perform troubleshooting · Support and maintain AWS services including EC2, Elastic Load Balancers (ALB/NLB), S3, EFS, and ECS · Validate backups, perform restores, and support disaster recovery exercises · Participate in an on-call rotation for incident response and operational issues · Monitor, analyze, and optimize AWS costs, including identifying unused or underutilized resources, rightsizing EC2 and storage, and supporting tagging and budgets · Maintain accurate operational documentation, runbooks, and patching procedures · Follow and enforce security best practices, including IAM, and encryption · Support audits and compliance activities related to HIPAA and healthcare regulations Skills and qualifications (mandatory): · 3–5 years of experience in cloud or infrastructure operations · Strong hands-on experience with AWS Backup, EC2 patching, and operational maintenance · Working knowledge of EC2, AWS Backup, SSM, Load Balancers, S3, EFS, ECS, and CloudWatch · Experience with cost monitoring and optimization in AWS environments · Participation in on-call rotations and incident response · Understanding of HIPAA requirements and healthcare data protection · Strong troubleshooting skills in Linux-based environments Skills and qualifications (preferred): · Experience with AWS Systems Manager (Patch Manager, Maintenance Windows, Linux) · Understanding of AWS Cost Explorer, Budgets, and tagging strategies · Knowledge of networking fundamentals (VPCs, subnets, security groups) · Basic familiarity with databases (RDS, Aurora, MSSQL) · AWS SysOps Administrator or similar certification · HIPAA, SOC2, and HITRUST understanding a plus Additional Information · This role includes after-hours and weekend on-call support on a rotating schedule · Primary focus is operational stability, cost control, and compliance · Candidates must be comfortable working in a regulated healthcare environment EEO Disclaimer:SIGHTVIEW SOFTWARE LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
