Fitness - Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer - At Least 1 Year Experience

Personal Trainer \& Fitness Instructors GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR JOB DESCRIPTION: Mission Hills Racquet and Swim Club is a growing health and fitness club with a passion to provide an unforgettable and exclusive experience for families and elite athletes. We are creating an elite community through innovation and by providing a unique wellness experience. We are looking for a Personal Trainer/ Group Fitness Instructor/ Hybrid Trainer that will share in our passion of developing a strong health and fitness program within our club. The position offers competitive hourly rates for group classes and personal training sessions. Successful candidates will be proactive and self-sufficient, able to sell themselves and proactively fill their own schedules with 1-on-1 sessions around their designated group classes. We are looking for someone to teach our Bootcamp class and Junior Tennis Fitness Clinic : Monday's at 7pm-8pm. (Bootcamp) Friday's 5:30pm-6:30pm (Fitness Clinic) Friday's 6:30pm-7:30pm. (Bootcamp) Mission Hills lives on 12.8 acres of dense redwood trees, operates a gym, a swimming pool, and 13 outdoor tennis courts. The personal trainer position will involve a variety of tasks such as class and private lesson sales, schedule management, class creation, and gym maintenance. Other duties will be determined by the Fitness Director. Above all, our ideal candidate will be well-mannered, enthusiastic, friendly, professional, organized, punctual, and possess excellent communication skills. One of our constant objectives is to provide world-class customer service. Therefore, previous customer experience is necessary. Among the Duties and Responsibilities: To work as part of a team in achieving Fitness Department objectives, and review on a regular basis. To attend and actively participate in monthly fitness staff meetings. To maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the enjoyment and welfare of guests and members, in accordance with the company’s health and safety legislation. Consult with clients to understand their goals and current fitness levels. Perform fitness testing when necessary and create fitness test reports for clients. Utilize in-depth knowledge to answer clients' questions, and actively follow up with clients. Provide clients with regular feedback and accountability on their progression. Create comprehensive workout plans for clients. Create a positive, fun, high-energy environment to motivate and guide clients during their training sessions. Ensure that clients train safely with proper form and technique. Explain exercises and workouts clearly and concisely. Implement and lead regular group workout classes. Build class attendance and retain current clientele. Ensure the company customer care standards are maintained when dealing with guests/members. To act as a role model, demonstrating professional conduct at all times. To ensure all daily checks of health, safety, and cleanliness are carried out in all areas of the Fitness Department. Any other tasks/duties as may be required by the Fitness Director. PERSON SPECIFICATION Desired Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Nationally recognized Personal Training/ Group Training Certification is preferred but not required. A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred but not required: Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, Physical Education, Nutrition, Fitness Specialist, Business, etc. Must have either a Nationally recognized Personal Training Certification or a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. First Aid and CPR Certification is required. Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist is preferred but not required. Experience Significant experience in a personal training/ group fitness environment while providing high-quality customer service. Significant previous experience with sales in the fitness and wellness industry. Preferable if personal trainer has previously built up clientele and client contacts. Ability to perform exercises and movements correctly with proper form and technique. Skills Competent in lifestyle talks, nutrition, and fitness. Demonstrable customer service skills and the desire to go the extra mile to ensure guests have a memorable, high-quality experience. An excellent team worker who is reliable and demonstrates good timekeeping. Excellent communication skills to ensure effective working relationships within and across departments. Excellent communication skills as well as an excellent command of the English language. Knowledge and Understanding Knowledge, background, and passion for the fitness and leisure industry. Knowledge, background, and passion for the tennis industry. (not required but preferred). Knowledge and experience with Online Scheduling and Management Software (Such as WellnessLiving, Mindbody Online, etc.) Knowledge and experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Software. Knowledge and Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access. Other requirements A polite, friendly, welcoming, and helpful nature. Exceptionally well groomed and presentable. You must have reliable transportation and be punctual to client appointments and classes. The ability to work with discretion and in confidence, respecting guest privacy. The Ability to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary.
