Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. The PTA will work closely with licensed physical therapists to deliver high-quality patient care across various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, home health, and clinics. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' recovery journeys by applying your expertise in physiotherapy and patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, with experience in diverse clinical environments such as orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care. Duties Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized care plans for patients of all ages, including pediatrics and geriatrics. Perform therapeutic interventions such as trigger point therapy, therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities to promote healing and mobility. Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatment accurately in medical records. Educate patients and their families on exercises, injury prevention, and discharge planning to support ongoing recovery. Support discharge planning processes by coordinating with healthcare teams to ensure smooth transitions between care settings. Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment in compliance with healthcare standards and regulations. Participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress and adapt treatment strategies as needed. Qualifications Valid state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Proven experience in outpatient clinics, inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, home health, or acute care environments. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and physiotherapy techniques. Experience with specialized treatments such as trigger point therapy and modalities is preferred. Familiarity with care plans across various specialties including orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and sports medicine. Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration. Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. * Prior experience working with diverse populations including pediatric and geriatric patients is highly desirable.
