Job Summary Codal is searching for a hands-on Senior Engineering Manager to perform various architectural tasks and provide technical leadership. You'll lead a squad of engineers through the complexities of modern backend development, and ensure that our frontend experiences are supported by high- performance APIs, secure data modeling, and optimized cloud infrastructure. Your "superpower" should be building robust, scalable server-side environments that power high-traffic enterprise applications. To ensure success, you should have extensive experience with designing architectures and web applications, ensuring the team delivers robust, scalable and secure solutions. This role involves hands-on coding along with a team of 4-5 engineers, maintaining high quality and standards across the full stack to deliver high-performance technologies. Who You'll Be Working With You'll work as a Senior Engineering Manager alongside client stakeholders, project managers, designers and engineering teams to guide projects from early discovery through delivery. You'll be a key technical point of contact, helping clients and internal teams align on approach and execution while ensuring solutions are practical, scalable, and well-built. Requirements * 8+ years of hands-on experience in backend or full-stack with backend heavy development, leading technical delivery. * Must have active hands-on experience alongside a leading team of engineers and be comfortable leading a team of 5 or more engineers * Strong experience with Node.js, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and modern frontend \& CMS frameworks. * Expertise in software architecture, database systems (BigQuery/SQL/NoSQL), and cloud-native applications. * Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) * Experience with containerized tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. * Proven ability to design and explain system architecture for complex web and cloud-based applications. * Experience working directly with clients or stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions. * Solid understanding of databases including SQL, NoSQL and analytics platforms like BigQuery. * A strong track record of guiding teams through complex technical challenges and successful project delivery. * Comfortable mentoring engineers, reviewing code, and establishing and maintaining high standards of code quality, performance, and security across all project deliverables. * Good track record in terms of finding slow code \& vulnerabilities during code review * Demonstrated ability in delivery, scalability, and solve complex technical challenges within enterprise level projects * Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical partners. * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Identify the electrical e-sheets, fixture schedules, lighting designer cut sheets, and controls. You will be in charge of our shared Lighting quotes box that oversees all bid requests from our 100+ electrical contractors as well as work with our quotations team on being on time for bid dates. Gather key information and communicate to our vendors with the ECs bid invite, counts, plans and essential documents to obtain an accurate quote in a timely manner. Lead and organize the quotations team by facilitating the each representatives quote into the proper department members hands for the bid process. What you'll do: Lead and coordinate the entire bid management process, including reviewing bid invitations, conducting bid/no-bid analysis and establishing timelines. Work with pricing teams to develop competitive pricing strategies that align with bid requirements and profitability targets. Monitor and track bid performance metrics, analyzing win/loss data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Continuously refine and improve bid processes, templates and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. The Returns Coordinator – Purchasing is responsible for managing all product return activities, ensuring accuracy, timely processing, and strong vendor communication. This role supports the Purchasing team by coordinating RMAs, tracking vendor credits, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining accurate return documentation. The position plays a key role in reducing inventory shrinkage, improving vendor relationships, and supporting branch operations. What you'll do: Returns Management Coordinate and process all Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) with vendors. Review return requests for accuracy and compliance with vendor policies. Prepare shipping labels, packing lists, and documentation for returned materials. Track return shipments and follow up with vendors to ensure timely credit issuance. Maintain accurate records of all returns and related communications. Vendor \& Purchasing Support Work directly with vendors to resolve discrepancies, shortages, overages, and damaged goods. Communicate credit status updates to Branch Operations, AP, and Purchasing. Assist Purchasing Specialists with product issues, pricing corrections, and return‑related inquiries. Monitor vendor performance trends related to returns and escalate recurring issues. Inventory \& Documentation Ensure all returns are accurately logged into ERP systems (SAP/Mincron/Eclipse—customize as needed). Reconcile vendor credits with Accounts Payable and resolve mismatches. Support cycle counts and inventory adjustments related to returned products. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety guidelines, and inventory control procedures. Customer/Branch Support Provide branch teams with clear instructions for damaged, defective, or incorrect product returns. Serve as a point of contact for branch return questions or escalations. Partner with warehouse staff to ensure proper handling, packaging, and staging of return materials. What you'll bring: Required: 1–2 years of experience in purchasing, inventory, returns, or supply chain operations. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to communicate professionally with vendors and internal partners. Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook). Strong problem‑solving and follow‑through skills.
